Take me to the shore, where birds once leaped from,
Make the sands wet, for me to bury myself in and feel the sun scorch over me,
May the strangers see what darkness lies inside me, as they see what good lies inside me,
Give me a foundation to stand on,
Make me walk on water,
Give me life with your breath of silk,
As strangers walk by, make me love them and see in them what they don’t have the courage to see in themselves,
We will not kiss ass this summer,
Neither will we next winter,
Drive them crazy when you tell them you love them for they have not been loved before,
Watch them wane at something unfamiliar,
Remind them of gentle places inside them,
Make them come home again,
Give them what they’d been longing for,
Then walk away like water.
